Trezor.io/Start – Get Started with Your Trezor

Welcome to Trezor.io/Start

Your crypto, secured by you. Let's begin your setup journey.

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect Your Trezor

Start by unboxing your Trezor device (Model One or Model T). Make sure the packaging is sealed and hasn’t been tampered with. Inside, you’ll find the device, a USB cable, recovery seed cards, stickers, and a user guide. If anything is missing or looks off, reach out to Trezor Support before continuing.

Step 2: Go to Trezor.io/Start

On your computer, open your browser and go to https://trezor.io/start. This is the only official place to begin your Trezor setup. Avoid downloading anything from third-party sites or unofficial sources.

Step 3: Download Trezor Suite

From the Start page, download the Trezor Suite app for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Trezor Suite is your dashboard for securely managing your digital assets. Make sure to verify the source and digital signature of the download.

Step 4: Connect and Initialize Your Device

Connect your Trezor to your computer using the provided cable. Open Trezor Suite, and follow the prompts. You’ll be guided to install the latest firmware (if needed), set a new wallet, and create a backup. Trezor will generate your recovery seed – write it down on paper, and never store it online. This 12- or 24-word phrase is the only way to recover your funds if your device is lost or damaged.

Step 5: Create a PIN and Add a Wallet

After backing up your seed, you’ll create a strong PIN to lock your device. Once set, you can add your crypto wallets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) directly in Trezor Suite. You’re now ready to receive, send, and manage your assets securely.

Step 6: Stay Safe and Keep Learning

Security doesn’t stop after setup. Always double-check URLs, verify addresses on your device, and be cautious of phishing emails or support impersonators. Trezor’s open-source philosophy gives you full transparency and control. For ongoing security tips, visit the Trezor Learn Hub.
